![]() Prevents increased current draw in case of an alarm. A residual current of 10mA for example may damage a 200Ah battery if the system is left in discharged state during more than 8 days. Built similarly to and with all the functions of its predecessor, the BMV-702, Victron has introduced built-in bluetooth connectivity to its BMV-712 Smart. The battery will be damaged if the remaining capacity reserve is drawn from the battery. After shutdown due to low cell voltage, the capacity reserve of a Li-ion battery is approximately 1Ah per 100Ah battery capacity. We recommend the Battery Balancer (BMS012201000) to maximize service life of series-connected lead-acid batteries.Ĭurrent consumption: 0,7Ah per month (1mA) and 0,6Ah per month (0,8mA) 24V Especially Li-ion batteries have virtually no capacity left when discharged until low voltage shutdown. If you are interested in the Victron BMV-700 or BMV-702 with a Bluetooth dongle, check out our other blog post. This post will focus on the Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor setup. Please see the BMV manual, section 5.2, for more information. This blog post will help with everything you need to know about wiring, programming, charging and installation for your battery monitor. The BMV monitors battery State of Charge of your batteries only, it has to be connected to the cerbo to send info to the vrm. The Cerbo gets its information from the Victron inverter, bmv and other components, it sends all that information to the vrm. When batteries are connected in series, a timely warning can be generated by measuring the midpoint voltage. The Cerbo is the one that communicates with the VRM. One bad cell or one bad battery can destroy a large, expensive battery bank. Included: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m) no other components needed.Īlso included are a separate front bezel for a square or round display appearance, a securing ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting. The shunt connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Use a smartphone or other Bluetooth enabled device to – customize settings, – monitor all important data on single screen, – view historical data, and to – update the software when new features become available.Īll electrical connections are to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt. ![]() With Bluetooth being implemented in most other Victron Energy products, wireless communication between products will simplify system installation and enhance performance. cycleguy77, I can confirm that A: replacement cables are available, as are replacements shunts and etc. I'm pretty new to this stuff and feel a bit out of my depth. With Bluetooth built-in, the BMV Smart is ready for the Internet of Things (IoT) era. Justin Cook - Bay Marine Supply USA answered ![]() I'm thinking that since my settings on the BMV have the charged voltage at 13.2V, when the solar gets up to the 14.7V for absorption it is setting SOC to 100%. I looked into my solar and converter specs and with the solar, the absorption voltage is 14.7V and the float is 13.6V. Victron BMV battery monitors product page. I have gone through the steps Victron has suggested with no positive results. I installed the 5.36 onto my android and then the problem began. But when I switch to solar, the SOC often jumps right up to 100%. Just updated my 712 and now it will not pair I had no problems before updating. I left the settings on the BMV at the default and it seems to work well when I'm just charging off the converter. The other half I'm using a portable Renogy 100W solar panel with their Voyager charge controller. Model, BMV-712 Version, Standard + Bluetooth connection to smartphones and tablets Monitor for, 2 batteries/battery arrays V 9/90 Bore mm, 52. About half the time I'm charging them from my RV converter (usually via a generator), which is a Progressive Dynamics PD4045KA. I have 2 group 24 flooded lead acid batteries, that add up to 124 Ah. Hello, I could really use some help figuring out the settings I need to use on my BMV-712 for my RV setup.
